Welcome to Saint Bernard’s Roman Catholic Parish! We are a parish district & community with two churches,
that serves the local neighbourhoods of Parkdale, St. Andrews Heights, Point McKay, Montgomery, Bowness,
Greenwood Village / Green Briar and Valley Ridge.
Together we are called to serve and love God’s Church and His Holy People with compassion, joy and truth. You

Prayer of the Rosary
It is a parish custom to pray the Holy Rosary starting 30 minutes before each Mass. Please join us early to pray for
the needs of the world.
Our Lady of Schoenstatt
Our parish is the home of a special image of Our Lady of Schoenstatt. The original pastor of St. Bernard's parish,
Pallottine Father Theodore Gerharz, brought the image of Our Lady of Schoenstatt from Germany to install at St.
Bernard’s Church. You can learn more HERE.
Because of this prominent and unique image of Mary, we have a relationship with the local members of the
International Movement of Schoenstatt. You can learn more about this local association HERE.
Our Lady of Perpetual Help
SUSPENDED TEMPORARILY DUE TO COVID.
First Wednesday of each month: Before and after evening Mass, we offer prayers, and an opportunity to venerate the
image of Our Lady of Perpetual Help is given after Mass is finished.
Stations of the Cross
The Way of the Cross is a favourite devotion in the Catholic heart, and is a community prayer on Fridays during
Lent. Each church has a beautiful set of Stations that are available to pray with anytime you visit our parish.

Parish Associations
C.W.L.
The Catholic Women’s League of Canada is a national organization rooted in gospel values calling its members to
holiness through service to the people of God. Women of the parish are welcome to ask about membership.
Knights of Columbus:
Local Council 4965. A fraternal order of Catholic men dedicated to the Catholic Church, and to our Faith. The
Knights strive to be positive witnesses of the Christian in humble leadership, service, and prayer. All male
parishioner over the age of 18 years are encouraged to ask about membership.
Legion of Mary:
Mary Queen of Angels Praesidium. The Legion of Mary is an international association of the faithful of the
Catholic Church on a voluntary basis. Active members serve God under the banner of Mary by practicing the
Spiritual Works of Mercy. The main apostolate of the Legion consists in activities directed towards all men and
women, young and old, rich and poor as well as people from the margins of society (homeless, prostitutes, prisoners
etc.) and towards non-Catholics. New members are always welcome.
St. Vincent de Paul Society:
A lay Catholic organization is inspired by St. Vincent de Paul, who is called the “great apostle of charity”. The
mission of the Society is to live the Gospel message by serving Christ in the poor with love, respect, justice and joy.
We see Christ in anyone who suffers. At our parish we respond to need primarily by providing food hampers to
those the hungry. Volunteers are welcome.
